Working on the industry side is very different from that of working in a CA firm. Many young Chartered Accountants get a shock after working for a couple of years in the industry. Some even doubt why they did Chartered Accountancy, especially because they feel they are not able to use all the subjects that they have learnt.
What the program is about?
The first feeling that Chartered Accountants experience when they take up a job on the industry side is “IT'S DIFFERENT”.
And yes, it is different. Real world jobs do not revolve around compliance aspects only. There are many subtle things that you need to understand in the corporate world. Most of this cannot be taught in academic courses, but instead are acquired by experience.
In this program, I have made a humble attempt to share my experience and help you attain the right mindset for taking up a job on the industry side.
I don’t need to teach you finance and accounts, you already know that enough. This program is not about technical or conceptual stuff. Having said that, this program is also not about ‘soft skills’ or ‘communication skills’, that you will have to learn anyways. My focus in this course is to program you with the right mindset, so that you can take that first step towards being industry ready.
What is covered?
I have divided this program into 3 broad sections:
Getting Ready: Where we will address some of the mindset changes you need to make to fit yourself in a corporate career.
Start the sprint: Where we will discuss about how you should approach your job.
Mind the hurdles: We will address some of the common questions / apprehensions that Chartered Accountants have in the early stages of their career.

Dhawal is a qualified Chartered Accountant from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and a certified general management professional from Indian Institute of Management - Ahmedabad with close to 10 years of experience in business finance roles with leading Indian and Multinational Corporations. Adept in understanding business needs with ability to liaise across various levels of management. He has diverse experience across sectors like Software, Oil & Gas, Outsourced Shared Services, Advertising and PR.
He is a passionate finance for non-finance trainer and a finance mentor. Dhawal has mentored dozens of young Chartered Accountants and Finance Professionals.
